ax-lightness ULTRA 60CX – Deep-section performance for road, triathlon, and cyclocross
The ULTRA 60CX is the aerodynamic specialist of the ULTRA CX family: With a 60 mm rim depth, it extracts maximum speed from the airflow on flat stages, in triathlons, and during time trials – all at an impressively low weight of just 1,270 grams (including tubeless rim tape, ± 5 %). The 30 mm external width and 24 mm internal rim width are optimized for road bike tires from 28 mm width and provide optimal tire support as well as smooth rolling characteristics. Thanks to the bulbous rim contour, the wheelset remains easy to control even in crosswinds – a decisive advantage on exposed courses. The approved system weight is 130 kg.
The 20 carbon bladed spokes per wheel are laced in a 2-cross pattern, distributing loads evenly across the rim. The result is an exceptionally stiff and durable wheelset that delivers maximum stability and a direct ride feel both in cyclocross use and during long TT rides. Compared to steel or stainless-steel spokes, the aerodynamic shape of the carbon bladed spokes also reduces air resistance.
At the heart of the drivetrain are the in-house ax-lightness ULTRA CX hubs with ratchet freehub system and ceramic bearings for minimal rolling resistance and superior smoothness. The matte UD finish with black laser-etched decals completes the appearance of a wheelset that excels in every discipline. Race-proven with the Continental Team BENOTTI Berthold.
