ax-lightness ULTRA SL 45C – Aero lightweight construction under 1,000 grams
The ULTRA SL 45C delivers the strongest aero statement in the SL family: a 45 mm rim depth at just 950 grams total weight (including tubeless rim tape, ± 5 %) – making it a deep-section wheelset that remains well below the 1,000-gram mark. The approved system weight of 110 kg demonstrates its structural stiffness despite the extreme lightweight construction. The bulbous rim shape with a 24 mm internal rim width and 30 mm external width ensures optimal tire support, smooth rolling characteristics, and high crosswind stability.
Both front and rear wheels use 20 carbon bladed spokes in the ultralight T32 version, laced in a 2-cross pattern for even load distribution, high lateral and torsional stiffness, and a direct ride feel during sprints, climbs, and fast flat stages.
The in-house ax-lightness ULTRA disc hubs with ratchet freehub and ceramic bearings consistently minimize rolling resistance. The paint-free UD glossy finish with subtle black decals saves additional weight and completes the clean appearance.
The weight of the wheelset is just 950 grams, including tubeless rim tape (+/–5 %) – placing it in a weight category that is virtually unmatched even within the aero segment. Combined with approval for up to 110 kg system weight, the ULTRA SL 45C defines a new benchmark for production carbon aero wheelsets.
